What I do when I am not framing...I currently spend what free time I have not so gracefully fighting the good fight against my age, chasing kids and dogs, hiking, kayaking, and volunteering at a local horse rescue. I’ve almost got my husband convinced that I need a horse. The Saint Bernard just didn’t cut it.

My childhood ambition was...I wanted to either be a jockey, or living the lifestyle of a bohe- mian artist in New York City. When I got older I realized that most people don’t “choose” that lifestyle. It’s cool when you’re 19, not so much when you’re 41. I have new ambitions now that are a bit more realistic and a lot more fun.

If I were an animal, I would be...probably something mythological. Definitely nothing that flies though, I’m terrified of heights.

Duchamp

The coolest thing I ever framed was...While I’ve framed lots of art by brilliant famed artists; it would have to be the dented front grill of a Rolls Royce...or a can of tuna. It’s really a toss up. They both had great stories. It’s really all about the story.

The coolest (or most famous) person I ever framed for was...I don’t know how to answer that question, I don’t think fame makes people interesting and the coolest person that I ever framed for might be you. The coolest people that come in are the ones that laugh with me, and I do like to laugh. My inspiration comes from...everything around me. The people I know. The places I live. Absolutely everything.

My favorite artist (or medium) is...Marcel Duchamp (right). My son is pretty good too.

Why I love my job... What’s not to love? I work with incredible art all day long. I meet interesting, funny people. The people I work with are incredible craftsmen and consistently amaze me. Most of all, it challenges me and in spite of the fact that I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years now, I’m still learning almost every day.

If I were a piece of art, I would be...I wish I could honestly answer this with Robert Rauschenberg’s Monogram or Marcel Duchamp’s Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even, but truth be told, it would probably be kids’ art. A little crumpled, a little torn, probably on green faded construction paper with some macaroni attached.

My best design advice...There are no rules and not everything has to be neutral. The person, contemporary or historic, that I would most like to meet...Cameron Sinclair from Architecture for Humanit
